Ice Lake Inspiration

Took a hike to ice lake near Silverton, Colorado last week. GORGEOUS! For anyone in design, how could these colors not inspire? I mean really? The view is so breathtaking at the end of the hike that you have to rub your eyes and physically close your mouth, lest flies rush in. I was gobsmacked!
Elegant Linens I am hopelessly enamored by these colors. They work in modern and even traditional settings. It just says FRESH to me.
Sumptuous, no? I want to put a vase of peacock feathers near by, or drape a teal silk robe on the bed post! Lime, turquoise, peacock blue, even the names don't adequately describe Ice Lake in the lush verdant summer.

My Torrid Affair

My heart skips a beat, I'm breathless, my legs are shaky. I have all the symptoms. I freely admit it.

I had a meeting free, appointment free, deadline free morning and I hiked up Bear Creek trail. Ahhhh

This blog is all about inspiration and the colors this morning were RIDICULOUS! Talk about a carpet of leaves...

This rug, although a bit tropical, represents the beautiful contrasting colors. the deep red earth, the lime of fading summer and the gold of aspen. Stunning.

Love this one! Muy Romantica! It's called Nirvana. It comes in all sorts of great sizes.

For the modern palette I found this at Shaver Ramsey. The top two are from Shaver Ramsey as well. They have a showroom in Denver.

I wanted to lie down this morning, right on the trail and cover my self in all the fall glory-sort-of.

Then I just started imaging different paint color combinations. Any of these rugs would make a fine starting place for a whole room color scheme. MMMmmm.

It's haying time in Ouray County. Love it- although my Claritin intake has doubled!
Tried out a new camera and soon destroyed it...it had great features but broke like a cheap Mc Donaldland toy.
Scott and I got to take a little hike around Telluride on Sunday- We rarely ever go together just the two of us. He was patient with my arnica shopping and flower and fauna photography, he even patiently endured my rose-hip collecting. Aah Romance! We ended the day at my favorite restaurant, Cosmopolitan.

What could be more inspiring than all the bounties of late summer, flowers and vegetables from our Farmer's market, stunning mountain views, good-old country roads and the love of your family?

As a true modern girl, who loves the rural life I think that hay in a patterned field is amazingly edgy. One of these days, I will take that perfect hay field shot- by gum!
More hiking today- the mushroom class we signed up for had scheduling challenges so today it's hiking, lunch, and christening the new office with my fabulous girlfriends!
