The collector and the enthusiasts

Since I'm talking about girlfriends today...here's a shot of Pam's family room where our husbands are focused, deeeeeeeply focused on creating a win for the Tar Heels. Nick's t-shirt says, PUKE by the way...I now know that is a dig at Duke university and their little basketball club. 5 years ago...not so much. Life in the OC (Ouray County) is full of sports talk and I'm getting used to it...slowly. Wonder if they minded the camera going off during all those big touchdowns,er goals...hole in ones?


Pam is a collector though ....and I've enjoyed watching her collection of miniature portraits grow. I love the juxtaposition of the modern metal grid and the teensy little minis. Good table too, no?


Are those the lamps we bought in Mexico? I'll have to ask her.

Just last month we were still picking fruit in Buena Vista, and looking at the spectacular blooms in my mom's friend Shannon's garden...Now there is frost on the ground and snow in the air and on top of the mountain peaks.

It's haying time in Ouray County. Love it- although my Claritin intake has doubled!
Tried out a new camera and soon destroyed it...it had great features but broke like a cheap Mc Donaldland toy.
Scott and I got to take a little hike around Telluride on Sunday- We rarely ever go together just the two of us. He was patient with my arnica shopping and flower and fauna photography, he even patiently endured my rose-hip collecting. Aah Romance! We ended the day at my favorite restaurant, Cosmopolitan.

What could be more inspiring than all the bounties of late summer, flowers and vegetables from our Farmer's market, stunning mountain views, good-old country roads and the love of your family?

As a true modern girl, who loves the rural life I think that hay in a patterned field is amazingly edgy. One of these days, I will take that perfect hay field shot- by gum!
More hiking today- the mushroom class we signed up for had scheduling challenges so today it's hiking, lunch, and christening the new office with my fabulous girlfriends!

I enjoyed her pics of women so much that I decided to include 2 pics of my Grandmother. The first one in her very stylish suit and the other holding the hand of my mother and Uncle "Buzz." It's strange how much the photo of my mom looks like photos of my daughter at this age.
