The sky is the... Lindal!

This is a beautiful Lindal Cedar Home that
we are building in Brown Ranch (between Ridgway and Telluride) the views are stunning. Jack, our project manager, took this shot recently. I think it captures the infinite sky and the connection the home has to the it's unique site quite well!

We are looking forward to building one of Lindal's newest Turkel Designs soon!

On a very different note....I saw this today on Made by girl and loved all the shots of this home! The chalk board was brilliant!

Wintry days, Cornerstone progress and favorite finds!

Our custom Cornerstone job is progressing well!
I know these have been featured in a dozen and a half places...but I still love them, especially the camel and beet colors! The men's are sold out-#$%^&! Echo touch gloves let you actually answer your iphone without juggling your purse, your purchases and your hold on your child...love not having to rip my gloves off with my teeth when I hear my iphone ring....ahhh modern day problems!
It has been cold and icy here...gorgeous though. Yesterday we got a break from the cold and had a great 1/2 day of skiing! Fresh snow and warmish temps before heading to the Nutcracker at the Palm. My daughter played a Chinese dancer and a soldier. She was fierce in battle, all 50 lbs. of her!

...ahhh life is good!

Mad about Modern Lindal

Perhaps you've heard...Lindal Cedar Homes have partnered with Joel Turkel to create modern, 21st century homes! In their 2009 catalog Turkel has created a really amazing series that we are just twitterpated about! Dwell has a great Q& A with him here.

We've built several Lindal homes, some of them very green and one completely off the grid. On each project we've worked with Brent Hughes from Majestic Peaks Custom Homes.

He is a a very detail oriented guy. Our clients rave about his ability to customize their needs. I really can't wait until we get to built one of these Lindal/Turkel designs.

Constructing the view

My family and I decided to run out to one of our new residential construction sites this weekend. I had a great time playing with an old point and shoot camera. Sophia found plenty of things to keep herself busy as well.

I love a tall old stand of aspen in what ever season..they are particulary heartbreaking in the dead of winter, no?

Framed view of the Cimarrons-love it! This home is being built in Cornerstone. It is a beautiful old ranch and mountain golf community. The views are stunning in all seasons as well. I hiked there this summer, dined at their amazing clubhouse, and watched as homes have begun to appear. The architectural standards are high and the dedication to preserving the land, air and water are really admirable. We're hoping most of the new houses choose a "green built" philosophy and "highly energy efficient" build practices.
Scott loves the golf course which is designed to contour and highlight the lanscape and views as opposed to looking like a golf course was simply plunked down on the side of a mountain. And hey- it is rated top new private golf course in the country. We're really proud of the project- I'll update as I can.

Venetian Vignette

I love staging vignettes for photos. The kitchen sink is copper and I think the Venetian bronze faucets are from Delta. All the accessories except the fresh fruit belonged to the client. I think it's important to pull from the owner's cache. It can reflect the energy and personality of the home with the added benefit appearing organic and genuine.

GerryEfinger was the photographer on this shoot. He's great, fast and furious and full of stories. I have enjoyed working with him on all our portfolio pieces.
